April Report – 2025

Sowing Seeds of Abundant Life

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”  — John 10:10 (NIV)

We all desire a life filled with purpose, joy, and meaning. But what does Jesus mean when He says He came to give us life to the full? This abundant life is not defined by material wealth or worldly success; it’s about living a life overflowing with peace, love, and significance. It’s about reflecting God’s goodness and sharing His love with those around us.

Living an abundant life means not being ruled by fear or scarcity. Instead, we become rivers, not reservoirs—allowing God’s blessings to flow through us, rather than storing them up for ourselves.

In Luke 6:38, Jesus reminds us, “Give, and it will be given to you… a good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap.” Generosity, faith, and love are key ingredients in living this truly abundant life.

At Stewards of Nations, we have witnessed this truth firsthand. Young people once burdened by fear and lack have found freedom through mentorship, education, and purpose. When just one life is empowered, the ripple effects can be far-reaching—families are restored, communities are strengthened, and hope is renewed.

Through your generous support, we’ve been able to provide essential resources like tables for our training hall, educational support for students, and opportunities to invest in the next generation of leaders. Every breakthrough we see begins with someone who chose to give—who believed in abundance even before it was visible.

As we continue to build lives and create safe, purposeful spaces for growth, we invite you to be a part of this mission. Whether it’s equipping our training hall, supporting a student, or helping us reach more hearts, your generosity helps others step into the abundant life Jesus promised.

You’re not just giving; you’re sowing seeds of transformation.

Look around today—what need can you meet? Big or small, every act of giving is a seed that God can multiply beyond what we imagine.

Let’s choose to be rivers of blessing, not reservoirs, by giving what God has placed in our hands.

Remember, your act of giving is more than just meeting a need; it’s sowing seeds of transformation. Even the smallest gesture of generosity has the power to bring life and hope in ways that will have an eternal impact. When we choose to give, we partner with God in His redemptive work.

ADMINISTRATION

Printer

This month, we are grateful to report that a printer has been made available for our office use. Recognizing the need, one of our donors generously provided a printer to support our administrative tasks. This addition is helping us manage documentation, communication, and other office work more efficiently. We are thankful for this timely provision and the continued support towards strengthening our operational needs.

Board Meeting

The Board of Directors of Stewards of Nations gathered for their quarterly meeting on April 12, 2025. The session began with a time of devotion, fostering a reflective atmosphere. A Three-Month Ministry Report was presented, highlighting key developments, achievements, and challenges. This helped the board assess the organization’s current standing and recent progress.

The One-Year Ministry Plan was introduced, focusing on strategic objectives such as program expansion, community outreach, and leadership development. The updated Organizational Manual was shared, outlining revised operational guidelines (which could become policies on approval) to enhance internal governance.

The board also reviewed its structure and leadership responsibilities, reaffirming clarity in roles and planning for future transitions. A session on Resources and Mobilization explored donor engagement strategies, upcoming campaigns, and sustainability plans.

The meeting concluded with interactive discussions, feedback, and the establishment of clear action points for the upcoming quarter. The board left aligned and committed to strengthening the mission and impact of the organization.

Income Tax Compliance for Non-Profit Organizations

On April 10, 2025, the staff attended a seminar on “Income Tax Compliance for Non-Profit Organizations,” hosted by the Christian Institute of Management (CIM). The session provided a thorough understanding of the legal, financial, and ethical responsibilities that NPOs must uphold to remain compliant and credible. A key focus was the importance of dual registration—legal registration under the Companies Act, 2013, and functional registration with the Income Tax Department under Sections 12A/12AA/12AB—to avail tax exemption.

The seminar introduced the LLB framework (Legal, Logical, Biblical) as a foundational principle for responsible NPO governance. It was emphasized that failure to register properly or maintain accurate financial records could result in penalties or cancellation of registration. Key tax-related sections such as 11, 12, and 13 were discussed, along with the importance of filing Form 10B, 10BB, and ITR-7 accurately and consistently. Best practices for governance were highlighted, including holding one Annual General Meeting (AGM) and quarterly board meetings, each supported by clearly documented minutes.

Donor compliance was also addressed, particularly the collection of complete donor information for contributions above ₹1 lakh and adherence to legal limits on anonymous and cash donations. The correct management of corpus donations through dedicated accounts was explained, alongside the requirement to spend at least 85% of annual income, with Forms 9A and 10A facilitating the carry-forward of unused funds.

It was also reminded that there is a need to finalize books of accounts by May-end, store them at the registered office, and report any organizational changes within seven days. Overall, the seminar was highly insightful, equipping with practical tools to ensure transparency, ethical stewardship, and legal compliance—core values essential to sustaining the impact and trustworthiness of any nonprofit organization.
