PBYP Orientation

Date:27th September 2025
Mode: Zoom Online
Duration: 1 hour
Purpose: Orientation
No. of members: 18 (13 participants, excluding facilitators and staff)

On September 27, 2025, the PBYP (Prepare Before You Promise) small group journey officially began with the first online gathering. 13 participants joined the session, along with 2 facilitators and 3 staff members, for the Orientation. The gathering had opened with a prayer.

The gathering included an icebreaker activity where participants introduced themselves by sharing their name, current pursuits, place of living, and expectations from the journey. The facilitators also introduced themselves and gave an overview of their roles in guiding the groups.

Clear instructions were shared on how the PBYP small group will run, including weekly one-hour online sessions for 13 lessons from the PBYP workbook, spread across the next 4–5 months, supplemented by two in-person gatherings. The purpose of the journey was emphasized: to prepare young adults for marriage through self-discovery, learning God’s design for relationships, and building practical life skills.

Participants were encouraged to engage actively, complete workbook sessions beforehand diligently, and contribute meaningfully in the group discussions. Groups were then formed as follows: a men’s group with 6 members led by Mr. Premdas, and a women’s group with 9 members led by Dr. Hepsibah.

The gathering ended with a vote of thanks and a closing prayer, leaving participants encouraged and excited for the journey ahead.
