‘Stress Management’

The eighth monthly seminar under the banner, ‘Conscientia’, was based on the topic ‘Stress Management’ and it talked about various topics related to managing one’s stress. Given that today’s youth and teenagers face many issues in their life that cause stress and more often than not, they do not know how to handle them in a healthy manner, it was decided by the organizing team that it is a teaching that all of our target audience needed to be given.

The speaker for the session was Dr. Chaitanya Hepsibah, a highly accomplished ophthalmologist who holds an MBBS degree from Gandhi Medical College and a Masters of Surgery degree from Osmania Medical College. She is currently serving as a dedicated consultant Ophthalmologist at Sree Netralaya Hospital, Anandbagh, and has decided to speak from her personal experiences and learnings from various workshops for this session.

The session began with a proper definition of Stress, as the speaker tried to help the audience understand what stress actually means. Then, the speaker followed it up with a few statistics on mental illness and causes of mental stress to bring more awareness to the topic. She especially talked about how there were both external and internal factors that caused stress, and how they impacted a human’s life and body. Then she wrapped up the session by mentioning a few techniques on Stress Management and covering them in rich detail.

Overall, the session was well-attended and well-taught, with an average of 15 participants throughout and positive feedback was shared.
