A wigmaker for children with cancer
There is one young man named Fuad Halilović, who was twice diagnosed with severe leukemia. After successful treatment, this healthy 26-year-old decided to dedicate his life to those who need the most help, i.e., the children with cancer.
Today, Fuad, for the organization named Heart, for children with cancer works on making special wigs from natural hair for children who lose their hair during treatment.
Through the project called ‘My Hair – Your Hair’, in 4 years, over 10,000 hair donors came forward to donate their hair to make wigs for children treated for cancer.
This young man invested his time, energy, efforts, and dedication to make wigs to see the smile and joy in the suffering children’s lives. He made a difference by inviting others into this great cause, but first he himself invested by being a blessing in other’s lives.
As the Bible says in Ecclesiastes 11:1-2, “Be generous: Invest in acts of charity. Charity yields high returns. Don’t hoard your goods; spread them around. Be a blessing to others. This could be your last night.”
Who knows when our last night is, why not start today being generous with our time, talents and burden to do something for the people around us in any form of charity. You can be the first to invite others into the kingdom cause.

SEMINARS
Conscientia
The fifth seminar under the banner ‘Conscientia’ was conducted on the topic ‘Effective Communication. Held on 27th July, 2024, it was conducted with the intention of providing the youth of today with a highly essential and sought-after soft skill, ‘Communication’. Achieving adequate grip on this skill not only enhances one’s professional but also personal life, and as such, was decided to be included in our plans for this year.
The speaker for the day was Mr. Steven Paul Ponaganti, an MA literature graduate who is currently waiting to pursue his PhD. He has also worked as a lecturer at two different collegiate institutions and had chosen to speak on this topic as it is of interest to him.
The session began with the speaker giving the learners a glimpse at what some of the most famous personalities have quoted about effective communication to get the learners motivated about acquiring this skill. Then, the speaker went on to outline the types of communication and the sub-categories of these types. This was followed up by some interesting examples and an anecdote from the speaker’s life before the session was wrapped up.
Overall, the feedback received was quite positive as the attendees found the session’s content useful and relevant to their daily needs.
Life Purpose Pyramid
We are excited to announce our upcoming ‘Life Purpose Seminar’ which is scheduled for next month. The seminar will be held on the 18th & 19th of August, focusing on the “Life Pyramid Skopos,” a conceptual framework designed to organize and prioritize essential aspects of life such as purpose, passion, and potential. Following these sessions, on the 24th & 25th of August, we will explore the “Life Pyramid Roadmap,” providing practical guidance on aligning personal goals with one’s life purpose.
With an anticipated attendance of 25 participants per session, each requiring a registration fee of Rs.500, we are keen to ensure a meaningful and enriching experience for all attendees. However, to cover necessary expenses and enhance the quality of these seminars, we are reaching out to seek additional financial support for our upcoming seminar focused on personal growth and purposeful living. Your contribution would play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of this event, allowing us to provide invaluable insights and tools to our participants.
SMALL GROUPS
Chosen Ones
- Update about group: In the month of July, the group, Chosen Ones, conducted a monthly seminar on the topic ‘EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION’, valuable for enhancing both message delivery and listening skills. They also met up for a full-day fellowship gathering on 20th of July. Another thing the group has taken up is a book reading on the famous book, ‘S.H.A.P.E.’ by Erik Rees. The book focuses on discovering one’s spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality, and experiences to fulfill a unique purpose and can really add a meaningful layer to their study and personal growth.
- Retreat: The team Chosen Ones met offline for the third time on 20th July 2024, for a time of fellowship and growth. The meeting took place in the SoN training hall, East Anandbagh and went from 10 am to 4 pm. Despite the rain that day and a few delays, the day began with an inspiring and enlightening session by Dr. Vishal on what a community is and why community matters for us as humans and as Christians. Followed up by lunch and a fun game, the meeting took a rather cheery turn for a while as the team shared pleasant chats over food. Then came the accountability session, led by Dr. Chaitanya Hepsibah, wherein the individual team members shared the latest from their lives in their academic, physical, emotional and spiritual aspects and took a few moments to convey their prayer needs. It was a deep session, as the members tried their best to be open and connect with each other, especially after months of only online sessions, and it worked out well. Truth Seekers: We have successfully completed our study of the book of Romans and conducted two Bible study sessions this month. We are now planning to organize a monthly seminar with the Chosen Ones group, and they have invited us to meet. During this meeting, they will assign roles and responsibilities for the upcoming seminar and provide detailed explanations of their duties to ensure a smooth and impactful event.
ACTS: Acts group members have been very active in the past month. They are pursuing God in their lives by seeking his will for them, by praying alone and praying together, and they also consistently pursuing their group members to know one another deeply through the means of meeting often, sharing, caring, and traveling together. They all went for an outing to nearby Konda Pochamma Reservoir and they appreciated the creator God in their lives while sharing about how God worked the salvation in their hearts and the impact of different Godly people in their lives.
PBYP groups
Men’s group: Two men groups are able to resume their PBYP groups and complete one chapter from their respective groups. Pray for these groups to complete their work book soon.
Women’s group: After adjourning for a couple of weeks, we continued our Prepare Before You Promise workbook lessons. By God’s grace, one more member also joined our PBYP group-2. We were able to have meaningful, deep and wide varied perspectives on the topic of “Marriage and Money” where we learnt how we are the Stewards of money and God is the owner. And in marriage major conflicts arise not in the amount of money but differences in handling the money. The blessing in being a giver and saver more than a spender was a very good learning point. And two of them could come to my workplace to learn about missed topics in the PBYP workbook where we could dive into the depths of God’s plan for marriage once again.
PBYP Gathering: The PBYP gathering was held on July 7, 2024, in the evening from 6 PM at the Stewards of Nations training hall. Our gathering started with an ice-breaking activity to help everyone get to know each other, as attendees came from four different groups, making this activity necessary. 2-3 members from each group joined us, a total of 10 members, which we considered a blessing. Audit: We express our sincere gratitude to God for his unwavering guidance and support throughout the audit process. His providence enabled us to smoothly navigate the complexities of financial scrutiny and successfully complete the audit without facing any significant difficulties. We acknowledge and appreciate His divine intervention, which is crucial in ensuring our financial integrity and compliance. we extend our heartfelt thanks to our generous partners.
Staff Development: We recently attended a session on “Sharpening Your Interpersonal Skills,” which focused on developing effective communication and understanding others, especially when they are facing problems or exhibiting challenging behaviors. The session offered insightful guidance on how to respond empathetically and practically to such situations.
The topics covered, such as helping others grieve well, maintaining healthy boundaries, being an encouraging presence, living in community, and drawing people out, were particularly valuable. The teaching was both heartfelt and practical, providing actionable steps that we can apply in our interactions. Overall, it was a wonderful and enriching experience that left a lasting impression.
Training Hall Development: As we prepare for our SKOPOS seminars at the Stewards of Nations Training Hall, where we anticipate 20-25 participants, we find ourselves in need of additional furniture. Currently, we have 19 chairs and one table, but to ensure a comfortable and effective environment, we require 21 more chairs and 5 additional tables. The total cost for these items is ₹51,000 (₹21,000 for the chairs and ₹30,000 for the tables). We kindly request your prayers as we address this need and would be deeply grateful for any generous contributions towards this expense. If you know of anyone who might be willing to assist, your help in sharing this need would be greatly appreciated.
