Retreat

The team Chosen Ones, met offline for the third time on 20th July 2024, for a time of fellowship and growth. The meeting took place in the SoN training hall, East Anandbagh and went from 10 am to 4 pm. Despite the rain that day and a few delays, the day began with an inspiring and enlightening session by Dr. Vishal on what a community is and why community matters for us as humans and as Christians. Followed up by lunch and a fun game, the meeting took a rather cheery turn for a while as the team shared pleasant chats over food. Then came the accountability session, led by Dr.  Chaitanya Hepsibah, wherein the individual team members shared the latest from their lives in their academic, physical, emotional and spiritual aspects and took a few moments to convey their prayer needs. It was a deep session, as the members tried their best to be open and connect with each other, especially after months of only online sessions, and it worked out well. They wrapped up the day with prayer and a session of group photos.

Testimony from Shiny

Despite the rain, we enjoyed each other’s company as we reunited after a long time. We shared personal stories and secrets that deepened our bond. It was a blessed time!

In life, we may sometimes feel like falling apart but working as a community reflects the Almighty God’s design for us. It is better to be together than in isolation. As Ecclesiastes 4:10 says, “If one falls the other can help him up but pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”

  • From Achuth, I learnt the importance of having a heart of acceptance and trusting in the Lord who provides everything in His perfect time.
  • From Preethi, I learnt that even when situations seem difficult, we should hope in Him who takes care of everything.
  • Silvi taught me the value of taking up internships and responsibilities and seizing opportunities that come our way.
  • From Joy, I learnt the significance of having a mentor to renew and perfect our relationship with God.

This experience reminded me of the power of community and the lessons we can learn from one another under God’s guidance.
